For the birds blog post
You can’t have missed the news that International Festival is live throughout the city this week, with Campbell Park acting as the hub for many performances and activities.
However, step outside of the city centre and into the woods of Great Linford Manor Park for an immersive experience that you won’t forget.
For The Birds is a unique, beautiful and atmospheric sound and light installation created by a host of dynamic UK artists. It previously appeared at Brighton Festival, where over 15,000 attended throughout the three week period.
We were fortunate enough to attend the launch event as the International Festival began last week and were all mesmerised by For The Birds. There is something truly magical about the woodland at night, and this fabulous location accentuates the contemplative, otherworldly feel of the installations.
Thirty bespoke sound and light installations are located throughout Great Linford Manor Park and Stonepit Field, and you make your way along the route at your own pace, taking time to stop and enjoy each one. These installations celebrate birds in movement, sound and light, with each one different and expressive in their own way.
Not simply for those who are interested in birds, this experience will appeal to people of all ages and is one you will not forget!
For The Birds is taking place at Great Linford Manor Park up to and including the night-time of Saturday 28th July. Tickets can be purchased here: http://www.ifmiltonkeynes.org/festival-programme/2018/07/20/for-the-birds.html
